Stephenville, Texas, This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports directly to the AVP for Marketing and Communications. Tarleton State University is located in Stephenville, Texas and is a member of NCAA Division I and the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Tarleton is seeking highly motivated applicants for the position of Digital Media Manager. The Digital Media Manager, under the direction of the AVP for Marketing and Communications, leads the Tarleton State University social media and digital marketing efforts, works with campus constituencies to strategize messaging and efforts, and collaborates with Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) public relations at local, state, and national levels while sharing the mission and vision of Tarleton.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Utilizes creative new media, including internal and external web, social media tools, and online communities to help increase visibility, interest, and relationships with Tarleton State University and its colleges and divisions.
Deploys and maintains ongoing efforts for optimized, strategic, branded presences in select social media. Monitors brand mentions with focus on developing, connecting, and engaging with strong communities with a dedicated and responsive outreach.
Manages online web content updates, while participating in podcasting, blogging, or other approved initiatives and analyzes social media efforts quantitatively to fuel recommendations/plans for ongoing utilization.
Assist in strategic planning and coordination of public relations efforts including press conferences, executive media training, relevant communication, and crisis communication with local, regional, and national media.
Assists in promotion and placement of stories with appropriate print/electronic media, including social media ventures such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin and future platforms.
Builds and maintains cooperative relationships with area media outlets, business entities, and community organizations. Also serves as a key partner to assist other university divisions and colleges in promoting a unified message that properly aligns with the vision of the Marketing and Communications department and the university.
Aids with planning and publicizing special events, especially those that benefit from utilization of alternative or social media. Maintains regular contact with university social media partners, with special consideration to new or developing media.
Leads, monitors, analyzes, and evaluates social media platforms for the university and president accounts. Provide strategic planning that suggests new ways to engage target markets via existing and emerging interactive technologies. Oversee social media staff in planning and executing social media content.
Supports public relations and information services web updating and servicing, including calendar production. Serves as an advisor in proactively responding to crises and other media inquiries.
Provides messaging for special projects including brochures, posters, pamphlets, magazines, view books, position papers, etc.
Leads assigned digital marketing campaigns, under direction from AVP.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum three years of related experience in news, marketing, social media, or related field.
