Ashburn, Virginia, The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for the development, management, and implementation of marketing and communications in support of ASBO International’s programs, events, and awards. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, this position will collaborate with members of ASBO staff to ensure that their programs are creatively and effectively marketed to ASBO’s community of school business professionals. The Marketing & Communications Manager will oversee the creation of email, print, and social media assets with a strong focus on writing, marketing strategy, and creative direction. Project management proficiency, the ability to multitask on multiple projects, and excellent communication skills are necessary for this position.
Position Duties:

Support the Director of Marketing & Communications in collaboration with program directors to create strategic marketing plans for their respective departments.
Write copy for emails, social media posts, and advertisements in support of ASBO’s awards, events, certifications, and membership departments.
Assist the M&C coordinator in digital and print marketing, including each piece’s creation, distribution, and analytics.
Oversee the creation and distribution of house advertisements and inserts for ASBO’s publication, School Business Affairs .
Coordinate with the M&C coordinator in the creation of blurbs and marketing pieces for ASBO’s bi-weekly e-newsletter,
Provide support where necessary to the M&C Coordinator in managing ASBO’s website, including creating microsites for events and regular updates to ensure information is relevant and correct.
Ensure all materials are consistent in tone and language and that all creative materials adhere to ASBO’s brand standards.
Develop and implement robust strategies to engage with ASBO’s audience on social media, including driving engagement and increasing traffic.
Work together with other members of the marketing & communications team to create surveys, educational handouts, and promotional materials in support of the association.
Review and interpret analytics for all marketing efforts, utilizing that data to report on the effectiveness and alter strategies to maximize reach and effectiveness.
Effectively manage the marketing calendar to ensure deliverables are created and reviewed in a timely manner.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Experience working with email marketing services (Informz preferred).
Experience and knowledge of best practices for major social media platforms.
Analytical skills for evaluating gathered marketing data and analytics.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required with a concentration in marketing, communications, or English preferred.
One to three years of experience working in marketing and/or communications.
Desired Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with the primary programs of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere).
Video production experience, especially relating to promotional materials for membership-based organizations.
Prior association or non-profit working experience is strongly preferred.
