Founder Institute, a 9 year veteran in the startup accelerator world, is launching their first chapter in Austin, October of 2017. What makes Founder Institute so unique, is their affiliation with the local startup and innovation culture, and ability to create immediate value.
With graduates like Udemy and Pethub, over 20,000 jobs created, and over half a billion dollars raised, Austin welcomes the program with open arms.
“The Founder Institute is the world’s premier startup launch program for talented entrepreneurs. If you are up to the challenge, our comprehensive step-by-step program will give you the structure, mentor support, and network of entrepreneurs you need to start an enduring company.”
Many organizations in the Austin ecosystem are working with Founder Institute to help grow the Austin Chapter (The Austin Technology Council, Galvanize, Notley Ventures, The Experience Firm, Launch Pad PR, and MediaTech Ventures to name a few). With a stacked mentor board including Recurring Capital Partners’ Alan Godfrey, Austin HR’s David Hughen, AMD’s VP of Wireless IP, Patrick Kelly, Ernst & Young’s Maren Miller, Elijah May of The Experience Firm, Miller Egan Molter & Nelson’s Marc Nathan, Managing Partner of J9 Partners‘, Johnny Kelly, and many more, the Austin Chapter is shaping up to be very versatile across multiple verticals.
“The rigor of the Founder Institute program, coupled with its global impact and network of over 7,000 mentors, is bringing what Austin startups are seeking to take it to the next level, and FI’s highly collaborative model pulls together the ecosystem to support companies focused on growth.” shared Founder Institute Director, and MediaTech Ventures founder, Paul O’Brien, “Passionate about Austin’s media talent, when I saw that great media companies such as NextUser, Cont3nt.com, and Daylighted had found the program it needed in Founder Institute, I knew it was ideal for Austinites”
The next opportunity to see what the collaborative program is all about is tonight, Tuesday, September 05 at Bank SNB. You can find details for the event here. 10 presenters will have the ability to pitch their idea at a special Entrepreneur Happy Hour. The winner of the pitch contest will receive, $1000 cash as well as $1000 tuition to the Founder Institute Incubator, 6 months of PR support from Launchpad PR, and l0cal industry relations & support from MediaTech Ventures.
