About

New York-based artist Corey Ribotsky makes waves in the contemporary art scene with his innovative approach to mixed media and his ability to create works that are both visually stunning and intellectually stimulating. Growing up, he was surrounded by a family that valued creative expression and self-expression. As a child, he experimented with art, and by high school, he knew he wanted to be an artist.

Artist Corey Ribotsky lives and works in New York. He has received numerous awards and honours from juried exhibitions, including membership in the Artist Society of New York since 2007. There are many private and corporate collections around the world that contain his works.

Corey Ribotsky is known for his inspirational painting and drawing workshops. A number of workshops have been conducted by the New York-based speaker throughout his career.

Teaching is also one of his favorite activities, in addition to facilitating the learning process. He conducts workshops that include demonstrations, critiques, and individual instruction. A workshop teaches artists how to apply design principles to their paintings and how to experiment with new techniques.

Corey Ribotsky has been painting acrylics, oils, and watercolors for more than 14 years. In his work, he has always been fascinated by how subtle variations in value transform flat surfaces into three-dimensional objects. He enjoys painting with watercolor because of the way the pigment flows over the paper or how it blends slowly when wet-to-dry.

In Corey’s artwork, New York and the North Atlantic frequently appear. Color and light are the defining features of his work in any medium. To achieve this, he uses extreme light and shadows.  Color, shape, value, and light are emphasized in his paintings, providing the viewer with a unique perspective.

Paintings depicting nature are inspired by his love of nature. Even though he deeply appreciates nature, his greatest inspiration comes from the ocean. As an abstract artist, Corey Ribotsky is able to create new paintings by using various materials.

Colors and techniques are combined in his paintings. There have been several awards for Corey Ribotsky’s works. He has had his work published in many publications in the past. With a Master’s in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Corey Ribotsky graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Several of his works are in public and private collections worldwide.  Furthermore, Corey has received numerous national awards for his magazine, newspaper, and television features. He is also a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and the New York Watercolor Society.

In his early work, Ribotsky explored themes of identity, memory, and perception. In his art, he often incorporates found objects like old photographs, maps, and other ephemera, creating layered, textured works that invite viewers to interact with them.

With time, Ribotsky began focusing more on how art and technology interact. His immersive installations explored the intersection of the physical and digital worlds by incorporating LED lighting and projection mapping.

“The Network,” Ribotsky’s series of interconnected sculptures and installations, explores the ways technology has transformed how we relate to each other and to the world around us. Since 2012, galleries and museums around the world have exhibited the project.

He is also an active member of the New York City art community in addition to his work as an artist. A mentor and teacher to emerging artists, he has participated in a number of community-based art projects aimed at bringing art to underserved communities.

As a result of his work, Ribotsky has been awarded numerous awards and honors, including a fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts in 2011 and a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in 2017. A number of the world’s most prestigious art institutions have exhibited his work, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tate Modern in London, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

His innovative and thought-provoking works continue to push the boundaries of contemporary art today. Ribotsky’s art always challenges viewers to view the world differently, no matter what type of mixed media sculpture or immersive digital installation he creates.
