SF Music Tech Summit #19
SF Music Tech Summit (SFMTS) is in it’s 19th event since it’s fruition in 2008. Founders Brian & Shoshana Zisk have provided a platform giving music technology innovation a voice, demanding attention from industry professionals from all over the world. With an increased focus on disrupting out dated industry models, and a need to on empower artists to be more sustainable, SFMTS becomes more relevant and needed every year.
This year is no exception with a rock star line up of speakers and many reasons to attend. Here are a few notable mentions, feel free to check out the entire list here. John Acquaviva & Rishi Patel, Plus Eight Equity Partners – Dave Allen, North Inc. – Ted Cohen, TAG Strategic – Kathleen McMahon, SoundHound Inc. – Scott Ryan, Grace Note – Jeffrey C. Smith, Smule – Zac Smith, Landmrk – Jonathan Teo, Binary Capital – Ryan Walsh, Floodgate – Stephen White, Dubset Media Holdings – Jim Mahoney, Merlin – Dave Haynes, TheWaveVR – Joao Fiadeiro, Youtube – Michael Drexler, Warner Music Group.
If the lineup for speakers isn’t enough to get you there, pretty much every Music Tech company doing anything exiting and cutting edge will be present. You can find out who’s attending here. There are definitely a few I’m personally excited to see and speak with: MOD Devices, GigSalad, Pyramind, Jammber, iMuze, Kobalt Music, Sonos.
Whether you have a question about the current state of the music industry or the future, there is a specialist in attendance that will be able to answer it. If the Summit itself isn’t awesome enough, they’re also hosting a Hackathon Saturday October 15-16. The SF MusicTech Hackathon is being produced by Travis Laurendine of SXSW Hackathon/Outside Hacks, and Luann Williams of the SXSW Hackathon in partnership with International Music HackDay, the SFMTS production team, and more! With a focus on Music VR/AR/XR, Music AI, music blockchain and cryptocurrencies the judges table is stacked: John Acquiaviva, Plus Eight Equity Partners – Ryan Walsh, Floodgate – Lance Coleman, IV the Love – Tiff Zhong, Gen Z whisperer – Jess – Erickson, Facebook – Anne Ward, Upload, Inc. – Michael Drexler, Warner Music Group – David Lowry, Hydric Media. For additional info on the hackathon check It out here.
We’re looking forward to attending the conference next week, and continuing the dialog on how we bridge the gap between venture capital and media technologies. It’s conferences like these that help bring together some of the best a brightest to figure out these complex challenges and discuss ideas and the future. We’re looking forward to talking with some key industry players on being a part of MediaTech Ventures’ ecosystem; exploring mentorships and partnerships.
